Last week I advertised the fact that I had a palladium Quai de l'Ile coming my way. It has arrived and I am happy to share a few quick photos: I had incorrectly stated that I was getting the first generation QDI with grey hands (not the black as in the ph...

Congrats, Bill! The pleasure a new watch . . .

. . . from a brand you adore brings a sense of satisfaction that few other material possessions can match. I'm sure you'll enjoy wearing it immensely. Cordially, Art

So far, so good!

I've been coveting the QDI for three years. I surprised myself by ultimately choosing palladium, but my tastes have evolved over the years. Bill

Thank you, Nicolas.....

I will be sure to. Bill

Congratulations, Bill!

It is stunning! You are causing me to re-think the QDI. I really do like this version. Can't wait to read your review and see how you like living with this one. May it time only happy moements. Best always, respo

Thanks, respo.....

I think you would enjoy this watch a lot. The big question is if you would bump it ahead of all the other VC's that you like. Bill

Another VC watch I would love to have (in rose gold).

I look forward to seeing more pictures and reading your thoughts on the watch. Watch Time has reviewed one of the newer QDI models in their December issue (day, date and power reserve I believe). I know it is not comparing apples to apples, but I am still...

Hi Stewart...

I have yet to get my hands on the new Watchtime magazine, so I'll be interested to see what they have to say about the QDI D/D/PR. Thanks for the tip. Bill

Congratulations, it is very, very nice.

Aaron.....

while the QDI sings to me, I recognize that it is not for everyone, either because of the size or because of the dial (for which VC now makes the solid dial option). Bill

funny how when the QDI was launched the VC crowd kind of looked down at it but seems that

 By: alex : November 17th, 2011-02:57
now its getting a lot of love! Great watch Bill, wear it in good health

I'm certainly lovin' it!

 By: WHL : November 20th, 2011-14:04
Though I wouldn't expect the QDI to overtake the Patrimony family of watches in terms of popularity. Best, Bill

Looking forward to your review

Hoping for lots of technical details

did you customize anything?i remember one reason for its modular construction was to enable customization work. best, Horo

With the exception of the tantalum QDI.....

 By: WHL : November 20th, 2011-14:24
I prefer the look of a single metal for the case. I have played with the QDI configurator at VC's website and like the look of the dark dial on the rose gold QDI, but I am in a white metal mood right now. Bill

which uses the same movement, and which has a retail value of $26,500, and then look at the QDI in Palladium ($37,600) or Rose Gold ($40,900), the question you ask is a very reasonable one. I attibute the "QDI premium" to two factors. One is the complexit...

I saw the solid dial annual calendar QDI retails for US$68k. A nice watch, they must be doing well as that's a lot of money for an annual. Sorry to harp on this, the price surprised me is all, used to VC offering more of a value proposition than, say, Pat...

Congrats on that beauty.
