The trilogy should be considered as true marvels. How many watches do we know of are in the Guiness Book of Records or displayed prominently in a museum considered to be one of the most important horological museums?
They are truly horological marvels as are a number of the watches produced by UN under Rolf's influence and guidance and Ludwig's brilliance.
Why oh why are they so under appreciated?
I could name some reasons but really, these are incredible and should be held in the highest regard.
Yes they have an ETA 2498(I think) base movement but who cares? The movement was chosen in part because it has the power and stability to handle the modular complications. The movement decoration is nothing to sneeze at either.
To this day I marvel at my set and am honored to possess them.

Sigh…..If UN of today would understand what they have produced in the not so distant past and revive them and improve upon them
They have in their history, the best GMT, alarm, perpetual watches in each category as well as truly amazing other complicated pieces that deserve recognition.
The Tellurium is my fav of the trilogy. Truly amazing to experience.

You are correct the crowns are small. Yes the ETA movement (thanks for the correct Sir Tim) was used because per Rolf it had the torque required as opposed to other movements they tried.
