Ulysse Nardin

Thank you kindly for the design!!

And I really mean this. When I met Ludwig Oechslin for the first time, to start my work on the Trilogy book, he was still living in Lucerne. It was a wonderful visit, but I recall him stating that he was not really satisfied with the Perpetual GMT's design. "Too classic, but I assume this is necessary to sell it. But I would give it an entirely different design." - After the MIH watch already offered a glimpse of his ideas, the first Ochs & Junior clearly showed his direction. It is an interesting school of design, but I would never ever desired to acquire a perpetual calendar where I have to count coloured dots in order to guess the date.
It was the classic, yet practical design that immediately drew me to the Perpetual GMT. Clean dial, and contrasting blue and luminous hands offering clear vision both at day and at night. I still love it and since I received it back from service not long ago, use it as everyday wear timepiece over several weeks.
