Hi all,
I bought a UN 42mm Dual Time (Blue strap with white dial) in June 2008. It is really love at first sight and till today I still like the marine look of the watch. But too bad, the watch is now on its 3rd return to the service centre in less than 2 years. I really wonder the quality of UN watch now and its customer services.
1. After buy the watch, in less then 6 month, the automatic winding fuction stop working. I send the watch back to the authorised agent. I got it back and they say my watch was magnetized. (My UN watch sit on the same winder like all my other automatic watch and I rotate watches almost daily and never keep my watch close to TV set or etc). I wonder how I had magnetize the watch.
2. Less then 3 months from the first return, the automatic watch stop working again and I have to send it back. After 2 months, I got it back and they say the early batch of 42mm dualtime is on third party modified movement and now they change my watch movement to later one. OK. I buy the story. Because of this, they give me a letter to say my UN watch got an extension of warranty of 1 year.
3. Less then 1 month after the 2nd return, I realise the crown had this funny awkful sound when I wind the watch and the rotor movement is kind of restricted. I return the watch again Nov 2009 and until today they is no news about my UN watch. I ask the retailer where I bought the watch and send the watch for repay, they told me UN service center say no problem but got check.
I like the watch but I'm really irritated by the quality and services. I went to UN official website to write a comment/complain about the problem. To my dismay, after almost 1 month now. I got no response from UN. Last week the retailer told me they will give me an answer but until today, I got no news from them. Now, I stop call and asking the retailer about my watch.
I pay thousands of dollar for the UN watch. Instead of enjoying the watch, I ended up with hassle and trouble of sending the watch back, keep call the retailer to get my watch back but to no response and aaiii... Don't know what to say about UN.
Any idea how I should deal with UN or at least make UN response to service after sale instead of just selling and no servicing?
regards
Ricky
