I can't believe it, after getting the +35s per day problem solved last year (watch was away for 10 weeks), the second hand has decided to detatch itself from the watch... I put it on it's side last night for a couple of minutes as i brushed my teeth and when i went to put it beside my bed, i noticed the second hand was floating around inside the case!

bad photo, but try to find the second hand...
So it looks like i have to make the 140 mile journey to Harrods again to get them to ship off my beloved wedding present to UN for a few weeks...
I think it's time i invested in another watch!

Thanks gazoz
I will contact them today and get it back to them asap - it was bought in march 2007 and went back to them in December 2008 for the time-keeping to be sorted. It is unusual (from what i see on these forums) and highly annoying as i absolutely LOVE my watch

from the dates you've given your warranty expired in 2009. if thats the case you'll have to pay to have it fixed. what i would do under the circumstances is go to a reliable repairer in UK which i gather is where you are and get him to fix it. its a simple job which doesnt warrant a couple of months away at UN and certainly doesnt warrant going to Harrods of all places.

I got it in March 2008 (not '07) so i will return it to UN under warranty i think just to be sure

Hi all,
I bought a UN 42mm Dual Time (Blue strap with white dial) in June 2008. It is really love at first sight and till today I still like the marine look of the watch. But too bad, the watch is now on its 3rd return to the service centre in less than 2 years. I really wonder the quality of UN watch now and its customer services.
1. After buy the watch, in less then 6 month, the automatic winding fuction stop working. I send the watch back to the authorised agent. I got it back and they say my watch was magnetized. (My UN watch sit on the same winder like all my other automatic watch and I rotate watches almost daily and never keep my watch close to TV set or etc). I wonder how I had magnetize the watch.
2. Less then 3 months from the first return, the automatic watch stop working again and I have to send it back. After 2 months, I got it back and they say the early batch of 42mm dualtime is on third party modified movement and now they change my watch movement to later one. OK. I buy the story. Because of this, they give me a letter to say my UN watch got an extension of warranty of 1 year.
3. Less then 1 month after the 2nd return, I realise the crown had this funny awkful sound when I wind the watch and the rotor movement is kind of restricted. I return the watch again Nov 2009 and until today they is no news about my UN watch. I ask the retailer where I bought the watch and send the watch for repay, they told me UN service center say no problem but got check.
I like the watch but I'm really irritated by the quality and services. I went to UN official website to write a comment/complain about the problem. To my dismay, after almost 1 month now. I got no response from UN. Last week the retailer told me they will give me an answer but until today, I got no news from them. Now, I stop call and asking the retailer about my watch.
I pay thousands of dollar for the UN watch. Instead of enjoying the watch, I ended up with hassle and trouble of sending the watch back, keep call the retailer to get my watch back but to no response and aaiii... Don't know what to say about UN.
Any idea how I should deal with UN or at least make UN response to service after sale instead of just selling and no servicing?
regards
Ricky
Sorry for the blunder. I had no mean of discrediting UN in the WWW. In fact, I was first time visiting Purists with intention to look for some information and comment of another watch I wanted to buy and some how bum into comment of UN.
I will be very glad if you or anyone can give me some guide over the UN matter. I can be contacted at [Email address suppressed for privacy]

Hi Marcus,
I had not manage to read the PM you sent to me. I went into My PMs and only got this message:
"Sorry the sender was a registered user but may have sent the PM from another account. You may need to look up the user seperately."
I still got no luck with the retailer I return my UN watch to. Still no news from them of what happen to my UN watch.
And still UN website I posted comment had not responded too.
Please help me if you can.
