Ok,ok I am biased and I own the original model so I might sound a bit harsh here,but the first impressions I had after seeing pictures of the new Sonata did not change after the "in metal"experience. I remember how excited I was learning a new version of ...

... not a lot like the watch photographed on the back cover on many watch magazines. I was expecting to see the triangular subdials for the countdown and alarm dials, a modernized cote de Geneva pattern in the lower half of the main dial and the Ulysse Na...  

I agree that owning the original one gives you a different perspective on this watch. I really like your combo,that was the one I would have gone for if I didn t find mine. Mo

but at a glance, it intrigues me, whereas the previous model did nothing for me. Neither are my taste, in the long run. Go figure.

the design id too bold and daring to please everybody for sure. Thats the sign of a watch with strong personality and look. Mo

not sure on the 2 tone case so I'd like to see a plain version but I like the modern look of this one :) Look forward to seeing yours again soon..! Yours my friend, Andy.

I much prefer the "old" one. The new one completly changed. The watch is quite thick and the previous version was smooth. The "angular" new design is too massive and completly unelegant. Like the style we're used seeing much more in the watch landscape no... 

It took me looong time to find my Sonata,and I loved it ever since I saw Nicos. I must admit though that my opinion slightly changed after seeing the model I post below...this is intriguing,still the case is not for me as too big . Ultimately my Sonata is... 

were the hands. The hands! Beautiful shape. Not your usual shape but very distinctive. this new one... looks like a sports watch... an image which i don't readily associate with the Sonata.

many detractors found these hands ugly and would have changed them.I think they are one of the key features of the former model a very distinctive,sensual and coherent with the style of the watch. I choose a very peculiar color,strong,very strong true,but...  

I was lucky enough to see both side by side and listen to them as well. I must admit the ring on the new one is a little louder but not pitched quite as nice as the tone on Mo's. On the new one, there are elements I like... the shape of the hands is a rea... 

There is one version I would like to see in the real life, the titanium case with the ceramic bezel, which may be the most coherent of the different new Sonatas. I am not impressed by this iteration, to be honest. I find the dial to be too busy, the case ... 

I just got this magazine with a picture of the model you are referring to.... True,different ball game here,the watch is plesant and the new more aggressive layout and design suits the style of the new case much much better. The 2 counters are very nice a...  

Hence my interest to see it in the flesh... While I am not convinced by the others, this one has a coherence the others don't have. Best, Nicolas

Its certainly a nicer combination from the picture... I wonder what it is like on the wrist. It all depends on the stripes that you can see whether it works or not. However I am still not keen on how busy the dial looks and the bezel ring with all the num... 

I breathed a sigh of relief once I saw the new Sonata in the metal at my local AD (see Mo's picture of the advertisement in this thread). I liked the watch immensely because it had a more sporting nature. The dual metal case, the rubber strap and the ribb... 

I forgot to mention that I compared the chime of my (old model) Sonata to the new model in the titanium case. While they sounded very similar, my WG variant was distinctively louder than the titanium model. The UN regional sales manager and the UN AD were...  

I would have expected a rounder chime on the WG, and a louder chime on the titanium... Surprising. Best, Nicolas

I appreciate your insight on the new model. We'll all agree your sample is ultra special, but even against the other existing Sonata variants, the new design comes up short aesthetically. It's very bold, and I'm not sure the alarm movement is best feature... 

Indeed part of the charm has gone but new fans will Appreciate it. The movent and caliber of this watch is unique and a technical marvel, and so useful, a perfect travelling companion. I am glad you enjoyed the post. Mo
