As a non-skier with no intentions to start now, is a beauty spot like this still worth a visit when the snow has gone, just for some r & r ?
Yes, absolutely. We go in the winter and summer. The alpine resorts are stunning in the spring and early summer when there’s still snow on the mountains.
If you are looking at mountain resorts for a summer trip, just make sure that the resort has chairlifts/cable cars/trains running in the summer, like Wengen, so that you can explore easily.

We have spent a number of summer in this town and some others in the Alps. Summer is really amazing. And this area specifically is very kid friendly, which was how we found it originally (on the recommendation of some Swiss friends).

I’ve said to you before that you live in an awesome location and country. Yes, our Swiss friend lives in Wengen so he obviously has plenty of practice with these sorts of shots!
Yes, skiing (or, in the summer, walking) past the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau is just awe inspiring.
And you’re definitely ready for refreshments by the time you get back to Wengen! Nice picture.
