As a non-skier with no intentions to start now, is a beauty spot like this still worth a visit when the snow has gone, just for some r & r ?
Yes, absolutely. We go in the winter and summer. The alpine resorts are stunning in the spring and early summer when there’s still snow on the mountains.
If you are looking at mountain resorts for a summer trip, just make sure that the resort has chairlifts/cable cars/trains running in the summer, like Wengen, so that you can explore easily.

We have spent a number of summer in this town and some others in the Alps. Summer is really amazing. And this area specifically is very kid friendly, which was how we found it originally (on the recommendation of some Swiss friends).

A beautiful carless village. Our ski club spent many seasons there in the shadow of the Eiger. Racing the train from Kleine Scheidegg to Wengen was always the end of an exhilarating day.

Yes, skiing (or, in the summer, walking) past the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau is just awe inspiring.
And you’re definitely ready for refreshments by the time you get back to Wengen!

So cool. Reminds me of Banff Alberta......a place where I used to live somewhat close to.
We would love to visit Canada. I’m sure there are plenty of beautiful Canadian (and US) mountain resorts.
