When I was a child
If I was curious about something and asked my mom what it was, if she didn't want to tell me or didn't want me to fool with it, she would simply tell me, "It's a trap to catch meddlers." That was warning enough for me. This was a common phrase used by adults in the South to discourage a child's interest or deflect information. In other areas of the USA adults said it different "layover to catch meddlers." A layover is a trap to catch bears and other such animals.
When you made the comment "you don't want to look at this post" I thought right off you were either baiting me or discouraging me. Was there something you didn't think was appropriate for me to see? Or were you goading me?
If you were goading me..... which I think you were doing.... I'll take a peek.
Curious,
Helen
