Very hard for me to give only 5 albums, Andrew
I Don't like Music, I love it!
I may have a bit more than 1500 CDs, and I owned quite the same number of Vynils.
The problem is that I an found of different styles of Music: From the New Wave to Rock, passing by Reggae, Punk, well quite everything except Disco ( I hate Village People..LOL ).
I appreciate more English and American Bands, than French, with a strong exception for Bashung " Osez Joséphine ",, Gainsbourg " Aux Armes et Caetera " and with some nice excpetions among the Spanish Bands like Loquillo y Trogoloditas, or Jarabe del Palo.
So, among the American and English Bands, who are my favourites?
The Who, their Live album: " Live at Leeds ".
Led Zeppelin with songs like Cashmire, Stairway to Heaven.
Black Sabbath, their first albums with Ozzy.
AC DC, Highway to Hell, or Back in Black.
Blue Oyster Cult with thier Album " Extraterrestrian Live ".
Deep Purple, of course.
Some new Wave Groups, like The Cure : " Pornography " is a must, or " killing an Arab " in ref to Albert Camus book, or bands like Ultravox ( and John Foxx who created some marvels like " The Garden " ), without forgetting Opposition, too.
A unkown band like " Original Mirros " was one of my fav, too.
Thomas Dolby " Aliens ate my buick "
Talking Heads " Remain in Light ".
A special mention to a band like Pink Floyd: There is no album I don't like!
Beatles and Rolling Stones, who are the fundamentals.
Jimmy Hendrix, for his strong talent and madness.
And a band I appreciated a lot: Spear of Destiny.
In the moderns, the same: I can appreciate the " Smashing Pumpkins ", " Interpol ", " Archive ", " Linking Park ", "Massive attack ", " Arcade Fire ", MGMT, and so on...

....Aaron Lewis' voice is so good! Their 'Break the Cycle' album is a definitive must have for any rock lover! Depeche Mode is cool too!
