TimeOut

Trimmed, Part 2

Thanks for coming along on this nice cool morning after a rainy weekend.

My wife noticed these two houses are painted alike, right down to shutters, trim, etc. Do you suppose they are both owned by the same family?

One of the homes chose an Asphalt or Concrete substitute for their driveway. Apparently there is a pepper tree above this section. I suspect there will be a pepper tree growing here soon...

There’s the pepper tree trunk, certainly a very very old specimen!

and a curious tiny yellow bike being ridden by a middle-aged NASA scientist (or space nut).

At the other end of the transport spectrum we saw this massive Super Duty Ford, super-decked out in expensive accessories. Maybe it’s going up to Filip soon?

And today's politically-correct Family Truckster / school bus, taking the kids to school this morning. Mom can ride home with little bike in the front trunk.

Speaking of odd vehicles … out from behind the big tree I was shooting came this little eco-trike thing. Then I noticed the tree coming out through the wall in front of me. What a crazy day.

Bad, Bad new Apple AI editing software took off a car and put the tree into the wall — don’t click “Clean Up” without watching very carefully what it does. See original below:

While up the block was a bit of normal stuff, having served its term in the UK managed to find its way over here.

Gigantic trees were plentiful in this 100-year old neighborhood.

This house has the entire end of the block and according a real-estate site, has 10 bedrooms  and 7.5 baths. More than we need, for sure.

I do like this look but would not want to have to trim the ivy which will otherwise soon be coming through every crack it can find.

BIG house and a chimney to match.

A Waymo camera ca (with a million dollars of camera, laser, sonar, etc) was driving up/down each street plotting our self-driving future. I couldn’t help taking the photo.

View from the main street looking towards downtown San Diego.

More of the massive house - about 9000 square feet of living space.

Different house but shows the era.

The decor indicates these folk wish they lived closer to the beach!

With all this variety, it’s amazing the houses all get along with each other (do they somehow communicate about their owners “she won’t stop planting” & “he thinks he’s an architect” & “I hate fake grass” & "Help Me!")

These lions are thinking “We’ve seen quite a few things go by these 100 years, haven’t we?"

Now I need to go home and put my feet up!
