Hi,
Recently I've been venturing for good lunch/dinner deal (recent post http://www.network54.com/Forum/131774/thread/1274480595/Good+lunch+deal+in+LA%2C+anyone-+I%27ll+start+this+thread+with+Sushi+Gen...) and was inspired by Daos recent post of Fried Food Fest 2010 ( timeout.watchprosite.com ), thus last night I went to Captain Crab at San Gabriel Valley for dinner. Every last wednesday of the month, they have this promotion: 50% off everything on the menu, but cash only.
The one & only Captain Crab:
The inside decor... psss, if you're a single guy, you might want to check out this place. All waitresses are sexy & HOT and supposedly better than The Indian (a favorite place for some of LA PuristS)!!! It helps when the owner is a single man, LOL.
We started with this yummy sweet potato fries. It was so popular that they ran out of my 2nd order, and it was only 7:30 pm PST :-(
Fried calamari, hmm... tasty! As good as the onion ring (which I forgot to take picture of).
A dozen of fanny bay oyster:
A close up of the oyster:
The interesting thing of this place is that all of the cooked seafood were served in plastic bag. The hardwood table was lined with paper and as there wasn't real proper utensils or plates to use, the patrons simply eat & 'spit' (aka leave all the shells) on the table.
Clams with their special Captain's choice sauces (Rajun Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter). I like spicy food, however this order with medium spiciness was enough to tingle my tounge.

Close up of the clam:
2 1/4 pounds of dungenese crab, cooked with the same sauce.
After a long day of work, what a satisfying meal I had last night! And all of these cost us only US$60 (tax & service charge all inclusive)! Isn't this a good deal? Does any PuristS have any recommendation for other good deal dining places?
Regards,
ATM
