The main differences between the LX and ZX series...
.. it that with the LX, you can shoot in RAW mode and have better manual shooting controls. The ZS shoots only in hi-res jpegs, but has a higher optical zoom andvery good HD video recording.
I had a ZS5 before I bought my ZS7.

... Sure, Leica version boasts its special firmware to differentiate and I am sure it must be superb, but I am happy with my Panny 5, especially after firmware upgrade. And the price difference is what I really don't get.... Pick whichever makes you happy...
