TG Royal Silk PART3: BKK

Lastly we look at the Thai Airways Royal Silk lounge at Suvarnabhumi airport in Thailand.  This lounge can be found on the right hand side past the walkway area before the gates.  They have several lounges as the airport here is huge and you visit the one depending on which flight you are departing.  This is the lounge for terminal 'C'.

Staff here was pleasant but didn't really pay attention to those checking in.  IMO, they should ban use of cellphones by employees while they are on the job.  Some of the passengers complained but it didn't seemed like they cared.  Wifi was reliable and fast (but slower than the one in Hong Kong) and seemed more crowded than the LAX or HKG airport lounges.  AC plugs were more difficult to locate than at the other lounges.  Luckily I found one near the lamps that were between the chairs.

View of the gates of terminal 'C' from the Thai Airways lounge:

If you walk around the different terminals, there are various Thai styled sculptures around.

Plenty of food selections here.  I arrived during late lunch time and had a 3 hour layover so i also got to sample the dinner selection.  The chicken pie, spinach quiche, scrabbled egg, mini hotdog/sausage, and shrimp siu mai were all very good.

The ham and cheese was ok, with a  tuna and vegetarian sandwiches offered.

Lots of desserts here, I got the chocolate powder dusted creme puff, these were delicious!

They had a Thai style meatball in the siu mai steamer that was pretty good.

Next up, I'll post about my flying experience with Thai Airways!
