So many memories, Ed. Maybe the best . . .
. . . was the unbelievable 10 1/2 game deficit they erased in ten days during the '82 season. They were 10 and a half games out of first place to the Atlanta Braves on a Thursday; over the next ten days, they played eight with the Braves, and won every game. Swept a double header on Friday in Atlanta, won the Saturday and Sunday games there, then took two out of three from another team, and wound up back in LA the next Thursday to face the Braves for another four.
I was at the first two games, which were as intense as a playoff series. Rick Monday smashed a pitch hard as I've ever seen, and that was off of Phil Niekro. In ten days, they went from practically-out-of-it to half a game back.
That was a team.
Cool!

Cool yu got to go on the field and tour the stadium. The new food items look good. That grilled corn with the lime and cheese is a L.A. street food favorite! Those wooden spoons for the malts always broke when I tried scooping it. :( -MW
