My pal Marc received his Denali cue yesterday . . .
. . . and it's very, very special.
The handle is made with a Mexican solid ziricote forearm and butt, while the grip is made from a 150 year-old olive tree. "Why," you ask, "is it so special?"
Well, the ziricote timbers were given to the cue-maker by none other than Sam Maloof.
Bob met Sam about twenty years ago during a physical therapy session. When Bob told him he was making pool cues, Sam gifted a few pieces of ziricote. They're now embedded in Marc's cue.
I hope Marc gives his cue the attention it deserves with diligent practice. There's nothing I like more than a challenge.
Winning at 3-ball is a thrill, doubly so when the final shot . . .
. . . is a bank.
Calling the break . . .
. . . is an even greater thrill.
