Lipp in Geneva

For all overseas tourists coming from afar: dont be disappointed when visiting Lipp in Geneva. It is not located in a cute little cobbled street, amongst picturesque old buildings. For that scenery, go to Place de Bourg-de-Four (https://www.expedia.de/Place-De-Bourg-De-Four-Genf.d6067697.POI). Lipp is actually located in a very "period" 1980ies shopping mall, which has its own charme. Lipp's food is good, but dont expect "charming waiters" who introduce themselves by their first names - that concept doesnt exist here, neither in Geneva nor in Paris. Lipp is a place where many locals hang out who actually dont make a big fuss about it. The interior is typical "Swiss modern", not "Brasserie-like". It is a good place, but tourists might be looking for something else.

If you are looking for that "charming olde worlde" experience, go to Brasserie d'Hotel de Ville in the Old Town. Food can be hit and miss, although their Genevoise sausages and the daily 2 course menu usually hit the spot.
