I once told a friend that I could never wear anything other than black shoes. Boy! Is he going to make me eat my words, especially after the Berluti and Bemer.
After a 6 month wait, and while I was in Florence, I got a call for the JL boutique informing me that my MTO had arrived. When I got back, I rushed straight to the boutique only to find that it was shut for refurbishment (a few typhoons ago, all of Central Hong Kong was flooded ankle deep).
Anyway, I really like the modern look of a two eyelet derby and the John Lobb Luffield really fit the bill. I also wanted something rather dark but not black, so I settled on deep grey museum calf. They turned out rather well and I love the way that they look elusively black until they are paired up with either a navy or grey suit, when the deep grey takes on some nice character.

Thanks for reading. The photo quality wasn't as good as I hoped since they were hastily taken early one morning when the natural light was not as good as I hoped. I also didn't get to cover all the angles.
