Today 231 years ago people from Paris stormed the Bastille prison which marked the beginning of the revolution and which turned France from a monarchy into a Republic.
That’s what most people remember from history class.
But what many, especially in Northern Europe, seem to have forgotten that it marked the beginning of something bigger than that. The beginning of modernism.
And today, 231 years later, that influence is still in our daily life’s. For instance the rule of law has been a.o. based on France.

It has also been a very tough time. Many great names were sentenced to death an executed. Such as Danton and Robespierre... They have been judged in the current Criminal Court of Justice.
Which, for a lawyer who comes to plead here, is always impressive to remember or to keep in mind.
