Her Majesty The Queen …

Sep 19, 2022,08:48 AM

Today people from across the UK, Commonwealth and around the world will pay tribute to the extraordinary life and reign of Her Majesty The Queen.

It’s not widely known that Her Majesty was born at a town house in central London. The townhouse belonged to her maternal grandparents: Claude and Cecilia, The 14th Earl and Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne.

The London Gazette announced the birth: ‘Her Royal Highness The Duchess of York was safely delivered of a Princess at 17, Bruton Street, Mayfair”.

The original house was unfortunately demolished in 1937.
I visited the site to lay flowers and took this photo to share with you.

God bless her.

. . . the best of Britain, its people, culture, and traditions. And I'm confident King Charles will follow admirably in her footsteps. Art
