Daydreaming by the Sea, Part 2

Thanks for coming along from Part 1. We are still marveling at the pelicans, when a lady rode past us saying “Wow! Check out the penguins!"

I let her husband (shown here) know that these are pelicans.  Oh, Yeah, that’s right, he said, “but I wasn’t going to correct her."

Here’s an overhead view of our location, on a sunnier day. Big house with the grey roof in the foreground is for sale at just under $10 million.

This one has more land but not for sale.

Pelicans continue southward with one gull tagging along in case they find some fish.

We walked up a few blocks to the park (shown in the aerial view above) and just looked at the water. Everyone else at the park was eating lunch so we started to get hungry...

I saw this couple walking along the bottom of the cliffs and the high tide waves were VERY CLOSE to them and coming up.

There is no easy way out, they had to carry their dog over the rocks, and I’ll bet they were sweating, as the dark stones near their feet indicate the water’s reach.

French Bulldog is probably sweating too.

They can always call for a Cliff Rescue Team to pull them up, but that takes time they don’t have. At least 20 other people were watching, so we walked on, looking around every which way, including up.

This nice house looks out over the park to the ocean. BUT.

This figure is 2 stories high and is in the view of the house above. I’d hate to be living across the street wanting just to see the ocean but unable to avoid looking at this.

Pelicans don’t care one way or the other.

Parked nearby on the road was the most beautiful SL I have ever seen!

Rare manual transmission (for a US car).

A lovely color, too.

The big house with fun mirrored garage door.

This one a block up the street sold in mid-2023 for $23M.

We stopped dreaming of big houses we can’t afford on cliffs about to collapse! and started thinking of lunch we could prepare… and I started wondering if I would like to have a golf cart to get around in...

The rentals are $110-200 a day depending on 2-6 passengers. Alternatively there are electric skateboards if you really want to tempt fate by going 40 mph alongside a bunch of tourists!

Cars, bikes, walkers and airplane all in one shot (while driving) Yes I got scolded.

We got home safely, had lunch, baked a loaf of bread, and wrote this story.

Oh, I wore this today, my Black Bell-Matic which has a bad date disk — at some point in the past a half-dozen numerals were lost...
