The performance is pretty astounding, and I get why people might be skeptical as to how someone with that big a voice could remain hidden for years, but perhaps truth is stranger than fiction. Having worked in the music industry for several years now I do think talent can remain hidden from the public for ages.

I just read about her heart breaking story in which she stopped her pursuit of singing in 1997 to look after her sick mother who passed away in 2007. When she appeared on the show, it was the first time since the death of her mother that she sang. -MW

i was going to mention Paul Potts Anthony, but didnt think anyone would have heard of him. Potts i think has the advantage through age and looks. male singers can get away with more than females and looks wise she was near the end of the queue. Graham
