A month later I saw Humble Pie, whose lead singer, Steve Marriott had been The Small Faces lead singer. They were the middle act with Savoy Brown and Cactus.
Shows at the Fillmore had a tendency to go all night. They’d start at 8PM and finish around 3 or 4 in the morning. It was a huge shame when it closed in 1971. The shows I saw were in the Fall of 1970.
I saw SRV with Roy Buchanan and the Fabulous Thunderbirds in Philly, not long before Stevie died.
All great memories.
