So, I'm leaning towards going to an island in Greece in about a week and a half. (other options are Corsica or Krk in Croatia). Corsica seems cool but I don't want to drive in the mountains, and I think I would have to do that if I stayed around Bonifacio... 

Just a thought. Since you will be there for 10 days, why not mix things up. My choice would be Naxos & Mykonos (not so crowded at the end of June. Not like August anyway. Excellent period to visit Mykonos the end of June / beginning of July). Or Milos & M... 

my choice would be between Mykonos,Santorini or Milos. Best Regards

It\'s a nice Greek island with great beaches, a reasonably vibrant harbor/town and a mountainous region. Santorini is absolutely spectacular but very overrun with tourists from the many cruise ships that are always in port.

Santorini was amazing: stayed in cave like housing on side of volcano; beautiful sunsets and cool dome churches with beautiful med sea in background From what I remember of Naxos was it was quieter and not as picturesque Good luck

watchthatman Greek islands are not a homogenous culture and people. Despite tourism that encourages movement of workers, by their very nature of being insular, every island is different. RHODES Rhodes is well developed with infrastructure and airport but ... 

Not sure what Crete is like, but once zipped around Corfu as a passenger and that was terrifying. I don\'t do narrow mountain roads well. For the same reason if I did Rhodes I would use buses or taxis even if I have to pay more. My goal is to relax not to... 

You see more of the island by roughing it with the locals. I spent 6 months learning Greek and when I got to Crete, everybody spoke English or German or Norwegian! MTF
