Who devises this product strategy?
I really like this watch, similar to the other Re-editions or the 62MAS including SLA 017 and SLA 037 but I don’t understand the product strategy of this venerable company.
Countless limited editions and reissues accompanied by a total pack of clarity in which direction Seiko wants to move.
A timepiece like this should be part of the regular catalogue IMHO.

I think for Seiko (and GS) limited editions have very little to do with how many fans or buyers there, and all to do with their inventory planning

Not to mention Seiko has at least one other watch which shares this design in its current lineup. It seems like Grand Seiko’s marketing team has taken over; that’s not a compliment (for the record I have and happen to be wearing a GS).
I want to like it...
But, I am tired of the industry trying to force small sizes on me...just my opinion, but it has gone the way of the fashion industry...small watch, big watch, skinny watch, fat watch...kind of like ties and lapels...so tiresome for me...men wearing women’...
The only way to truly know how a watch fits is to try one on.
I’ve never bought a watch in the interest of fashion, and I don’t give a rat’s hind quarters what I’m being told is fashionable this year. Perhaps this is just me becoming curmudgeonly as I age.
I come from the exact opposite side
Sizes have been pushed up for years for no reason whatsoever, leaving us with smaller wrists without choice. I don't think you guys know how spoiled with choice you are if you like big watches. I keep on seeing these massive 39mm dress watches and it suck...

…I fully agree with all of your statements. I am personally happy that the average case size goes down and amongst other things, I personally I think that elegant dress watches should be below 39mm.
