So it has arrived...SLA019
As some of you know last year I purchased the SLA017 and was kind of disappointed between the quality and the price. It was an awesome piece but I wound up selling it off. The strap collected dust and it was just not my cup of tea after some time.
When Seiko announced the SLA025 and the SLA019 and when I saw the PRICE I immediately wrote them off! No way was I paying 5k plus for the SLA025 and the green monster was cool but I was not ready.
Having said that we fast forward to today! Since I really loved my GS high beat diver and my previous Rolex deepsea it just made sense to give the green SLA019 another look. Now knowing what I know this watch hits all the boxes at this point in time.
The sapphire and ceramic was a huge win for me. The green color way was also perfection in my eyes. So I pulled the trigger and had it shipped from Seiko Boutique.
I can summarize this. Seiko updated the clasp to be SS which is a must for a watch this top heavy. They updated the bezel to ceramic and crystal to sapphire. I think that was enough and they did a great job here.
Now some pics!
