Seiko

My 56-year old Seiko Sea Lion . . .

. . . says Happy Thanksgiving!

Hasn't been worn in years as it's in need of service; slated for my watchmaker's bench in a week or two, hopefully with acceptable results.  There's excessive wear in the reverser gears which might not be amenable to repair.

This was Dad's everyday watch for four decades.  In that time frame he had it serviced once.

I had it serviced twice in the last fifteen years, but wear and tear accumulated over nearly half a century without periodic servicing might well render it irreparable.  Fortunately, my current watchmaker trained at Seiko in the late '60s, so if anyone can bring it back to life, he's the guy.
