This is one thought I would grab for fun. If had a nice look. I can be a little more rough with it. This is the kind of example that can allow people to enter the market with a great value and presence. The exponential cost to go from 8-9 range to 9-5 is ...

Its always a non stop learning experience, but as we are on the topic, do you mind shedding some light on the serial number ranges you mentioned above, and what makes such a difference? For me, the 5513 always seemed as the best way to enter vintage.... m... 

My goal was to say search for nice examples with great wrist presence just under the 9 scale in the 8 to 9 range. You can easily jump 25% in price going above the 9 scale as in 1 to 10 with ten being perfect. When you get above 9.5 perfect lume flawless b... 

When you were referring to 8-9, 9.5s, I actually thought you were referring to a range of serial numbers (although my basic knowledge of vintage rolex should have told me that I have never seen serial number ranges beginning with numbers that high!!!)!! W... 

You could hold out for one perfect watch or enjoy three great examples with character. You could have a gilt 5513 starter and matt 1675 and or the other way round. Just try to see the watch in person because photos can cut both ways by hiding flaws or hid...

....when you get a faded grey insert, it often looks great when there is some glossy black or deep black dial....it sets it off really well

I am not always a faded bezel fan but some watches show up that way and work. Bill

The faded insert together with the leather gives this watch a great look. Simple, attractive, and sporty. This is vintage Rolex pure.
