Wow! You left me speechless my dear friend Nicolas!! What an study on the 6542 you offer here!! This is a true document which I need to spare in my HD for reference.

You know I own an "imperfect" example which I bought in my beginnings as a watch collector some ten years ago. A big mistake for a beginner to hunt for such an important piece! But anyway I still keep it.

Bezel is aftermarket of course, and dial sports silver printing. My big question is: if this is a redone dial: why on earth the maker did it in silver instead of golden lettering?

In any case I decided to keep it as it represents an example of the GMT evolution in my collection and I won´t be able to get another 6542 at present. Serial number 53x.xxx marked IV 59 inside caseback.

Thank you for sharing with us such an important and well documented study around this most coveted reference my dear friend.

Abrazos amigo mio!! Buen Año 2021 con mucha Paz y Buena Salud para ti y tus seres queridos! Abel
