How scarce or hard to get were Daytonas in general. It wasn’t really until the 16520 that people had to wait for a Daytona, you didn’t find them sitting in cases. And then of course with a new era (movement) the previous references now had some attraction...

The 16520 was very hot when it came out. For sure. But I would still argue that the watch that made the Daytona famous was the 6239 PN.
