very close serials + My dial theory.
The are about 3000 apart 779,xxx (smooth pushers) left and 775,xxx right.
I
also have some theories about the inside dial right side. There are
some gray like theses and some more black. From my observations all
(most) of the black subdial variation have 8xx,xxx i.e. (84x,xxx) higher
than the 7xx,xxx. So for me it seems the gray was earlier that the
black which is contrary to some other's observation but I did not see
them reference serial numbers in their theory.
Any thoughts for your observations.

The booklet is different as well a the writing on the box. Then, the ad covers the right part of your picture, so it is difficult to say... Best, Nicolas

Rolex of Geneva, . Rolex on the inside part of the box, there is a gold thing inside the box, just below the bezel of the watch ( box on the right ) + the two others I spotted before, that makes 5. Best, Nicolas

did you catch both elements. One pusher is unscrewed and the other point one is smooth the other has the line around it. Best Bill

... But i think Rolex replaced the second generation with the third generation (service and production) aroud the end of 1970 s' But I m not an expert, and I can t certificate :(

What we do know is that Tudor had a nightmare with the paint on their dials in the early 70s. It's common to see spotting on the grey dialled 71xx chronos. Do you think the paint faded or they were manufactured lighter. I'd be interested in your pics that...
I have a feeling they were born light gray
It is true with the spotting on these dials. The one on the right is about as perfect as you can get the one on the left has a tiny blemish just above the date but only under the loop. I have not really compared the black sub dials or have any experience ...
