The 1019 "CERN"
was made for CERN scientists in the late 60s. Instead of tritium, black enamel is used in order to be non-reactive. This is the purest expression of the 1019. A true scientists watch. I recently acquired an absolutely spectacular condition CERN 1019 that I will be sharing on this forum soon. A true gem.

I do like this one as well - quite let's say.... scientific .... Anyway, so why is this version called CERN?? What does it represent relative to nuclear research??....
Yes, because of the tritium
Tritium is still radioactive (even it‘s called „no rad“ in the watch industry…😉) And this was not good for CERN. A nice evening to all!

A really nice touch would have been the addition of a lightning bolt second hand.
