That's right. The 1930-40s, and 1960-70s are among my favourite periods.
While the present day is seeing some amazing innovations in materials and design, time will tell if it will be held in as much regard as those earlier times.

Two things strike me here
1. You were very strong resisting this one. Leaf hands can be found but such a 1018 pink, not so much. I nearly bought a grey dial as far as Japan last year. 2. Rolex misses out on the more dressy end of the market. The Cellini range, whilst interesting, ...

But you are right, the hands should be dauphin. A pity because the hands are unobtainable. But still: fantastic dial and very elegant case!

I like the 1018 a lot, but I am not at all convinced that is a 1018 dial.
