.....rarity is a relative concept. My oil paintings are significantly rarer than those by Picasso. Yet, demand for my oil paintings is somewhat less. So a relative thing as well as an absolute thing.

I recall the Rolex boutique AD manager in NYC talking about the first delivery of the 50th anniversary during the Patek NYC exhibition visit to the store last July. Therefore , the mark 2 started a year later.

I’m sure that there’s a few watches that are still waiting for an owner in some AD’s safe. I can see myself checking out the dial whenever I get a call from an AD, hoping for a Mark 1.
