Rolex Sea Dweller: 50th anniversay mk2 dial
Rolex Sea Dweller 50th – we have a mark 1 dial…….
As I stated in my Baselworld post earlier this year, all new Rolex models with the new series of movements will have a Rolex crown between the Swiss Made. It now appears that the first versions of this dial are appearing in the Sea Dweller- hence this can be called the mk 2 dial. What does this mean for the mk 1? I don’t think it is as rare as the fat/flat 4 LV (Y,F series), but will definitely prove to be a collectible in the future as the first version.

Why not as rare as a flat 4?
I have not seen any SD Anniversary in any windows from ADs in my town and around. Thank you for this, generally, interesting point!

.....rarity is a relative concept. My oil paintings are significantly rarer than those by Picasso. Yet, demand for my oil paintings is somewhat less. So a relative thing as well as an absolute thing.
It’s a hard to get watch, but more than the steel daytona according to my AD.

I recall the Rolex boutique AD manager in NYC talking about the first delivery of the 50th anniversary during the Patek NYC exhibition visit to the store last July. Therefore , the mark 2 started a year later.

I’m sure that there’s a few watches that are still waiting for an owner in some AD’s safe. I can see myself checking out the dial whenever I get a call from an AD, hoping for a Mark 1.

When it’s being said all “new” movements are getting the crown logo @ 6 o’clock I panicked for a moment lol
