... 1603 DJ made c. 1964. I guess the dial was originaly a deep cobalt blue, as some hints of original color is in the surroundigs under the minute track, but overall the dial has turned into a gorgeous purple dial as you well say.

Indoors it looks like blue, but with natural light purple shows in all its splendor. It is very difficult to catch this color change in a photographs, though it turns fairly well in my picture. I feel this dial changed color in same way of some early gold case Subs 1680 reference whose blue nipple dials also turned to purple.

This gives an special charme to the look of this 50 years old watch.
