Talking about new releases....(modern Rolexes inside)
I took a few quick phone pictures of some of my favourite Rolexes offerings.
I flirted a second or two with vintage,to come to the conclusion that...its not for me.
Unfortunately(or fortunately) I did not catch the bug, emotionally I am not moved by a watch owned by somebody else,or for that matter, not complete or.....mine.
Thats life......,I realised I can only have watches that grow old(or vintage) with me,where I am the original user and abuser,a painful realisation in the Rolex world as the majority of attention is devoted to old glories and the new offerings seem to attract opposite comments, but always with a little attitude of dismissal.
Anyway,I was walking by the boutique the other day when my eyes fell on this beauty....not a 2014 novelty per se,but a recent watch, which I always saw just on pictures...I was too curious....
Here we are in the presence of a peculiar watch....horologerie has little to do with it,this is more a statement.....a very cool one.
So heavy and hefty, almost too much, but what a presence...the colour combinations just stunning...arguably my favourite Daytona combination....in steel I would go for it in a heart bit .
Again, this is more jewellery for man than a geeky watch per se.....but so charming.
This year Rolex delivered a new version with extra bling factor...I must say in a very discreet way.....I prefer the version without diamonds as markers, but good job anyway.
Finally ,the watch that impressed me the most.
I always wanted one......the Rasta as Nico called it...a fun tool watch for the summer,a very present personality......
With anticipation,I always wanted to see this years version with blue dial....maybe too much?maybe a lot?....well...NO! It works....look!
It looks so good.....I will let the initial craze to come down and then I think I will go for it......the sensation to wear a Rolex ,especially in the summer months, is so nice.
This could be a perfect addition to my stable.
What do you think?
