Let me start off first with saying that I'm a movement guy; I like movements that show a lot of fine finishing.
Before I read this post, I was thinking the Yachtmaster was a very very good watch. Rolex is well known for their YM watches and I was thinking because YM is such a strong watch for Rolex, it would easily beat the Glashutte Original because this is not a normal GO, it is a very Sport-Utility Glashutte Original and sporty watches are not GO's forte. I like to call this GO a SUW; Sport Utility Watch.
I wasn't expecting much from the Yachtmaster's movement, but upon closer inspection of the photos of the Rolex 3135 movement, I was quite disappointed. You could see bits of the yellow brass plate from scrapes within the movement in the upper portion of the third Yachtmaster movement photo. Just somewhat surprised with this photo and from the quality offered by Rolex.
