Just for fun, I looked up the price of the world's most expensive car (a Ferrari 250 GTO) when it sold new in 1963 -- $18,000, which was a lot and Enzo had to approve the sale. I think only 36 were produced and one recently sold for $70 million.

Agree with you Bill that the no date has an extra spicy touch but your date specimen looks so gorgeous to me. It would make me a very happy man this watch on my wrist!

Wow!! We need a Time Machine like in the H.G. Wells novel dear Nicolas! I remember my Dad paid 200,- US dollars for the ref 5513 (gilt) Submariner he gifted me in 1966.
By the other hand, a good friend of mine paid less than 250 dollars the following year 1967 in Tiffany & Co. New York for his Daytona. It had a standard "panda" dial signed with the store name. To have an idea of what dollars could buy in those far ye...
Ah yes my friend. Good old times! That was a very different and long gone era. It was possible to buy what you wanted anytime, anyplace... and I guess at a more affordable price as well as the present prices...
