An old member from Canada accurately predicted I would be a dive watch collector. Maybe he understood my boyish adventurous wanderlust. I was always talking about adventures, and exploration. I cannot sit still. I often find myself daydreaming of nautical...  

I love dive watches too. They're the perfect companion for your adventures, not only in the ocean. Hopefully I won't run into any sharks anytime soon though 😅

They do come up to the waters close to the shore. GWs love to hunt where there are seals, and seals love to hang out near the shores too.

I believe a good many of us have the adventurous spirit but somehow life gets in the way. Great story. All the best to you, Tony

I just took the piece off…going to sleep now. I tend to wear my dive watches to sleep, and sometimes really dream of scuba diving adventures.=D If good times come back, I’ll post some pics of these watches underwater. Now though, life feels like a rough s...

I started to snorkel before I knew how to swim a bit crazy in hindsight but anyway, I always had a dive knife of some sort strapped to my leg that was my joy and pride. To my chagrin here you can't carry anything serious, they even confiscated my doxa kni... 

Must carry a protection device when underwater. In SE Asia, I get scared of the titan triggerfishes, which can make a nasty wound. Here Down Under, it is the large sharks, like the GW, Bull, or Bronze Whalers. I wear a knife strapped to my thigh, and also... 

I've diving with sharks but never met a white shark (un)fortunately!!!!! Is the lume of your watch liliac?

The lilac was caused by a large soccer stadium light next to me. It is usually green I recall.

But I have to clear so many things first, before I can afford that. It is just like Walter Mitty counting his savings on a ledger and feeling disappointed. I may have to sell away a piece to fund my FF purchase.

I really enjoyed reading it. What a privilege seeing the GW in the wild if a little scary. I always find my self drawn to dive watches, I think it’s the combination of adventure, a personal love of the watersports and just the aesthetics of dive watches. ... 

nowadays when I dive or swim in the sea, I use the sharkshield (an electric trailing line) which should deter them sharks. Which reminds me of my swimming instructor who does ocean swims every week with big groups. He'd often see flocks of seagulls and do...  

That is a big shark, it’s definitely a bit different here in DK, we have some jelly fish that hurt a little if you get stung, the odd eel and this little chap nipped my finger. It is quite a contrast! ...
