Rolex or watches being a core memory
As I child, I used to visit the center of my city. There was a particular important building where one of the most important radio stations used to go. From there many important news came out. Called the “esquina monumental” or “monumental corner” (because monumental was the name of the station.
Why is this relevant? Well, there was a jewelry that happens to be the Rolex AD, and used to have a big Rolex crown on the side of the building. I always wondered about the crown, used to love that symbol, I remember asking my parents: what’s that? And the answer was: well it’s a watch brand, the best watch brand in the world! And since then I was obsessed with it. I was maybe 6 years old. And the love continues.
Here are some images I found about that corner, these images are before my time, couldn’t find any around my childhood but even better. Now the place looks very different and the AD left this location and moved to a boring mall, but memories stand still.
Do you have any memory like this? I love looking at vintage photos or ads related to Rolex (I collect a few).
