Rolex 16550 Black Rail Dial.
I didn't tell you, but a Rolex Explorer II Black Rail dial is an obsession I have.
Here is a shot I found on the net several years ago:
I will happily credit on request.
Back to the 16550 Black Rail... The patina is awesome, and I must say that the lover in me of the 16550 Cream is not very faithful... I would also happily live with the Black version.
Most of the 16650 Black Rail I saw have a spider dial. Certainly due to a flaw in the lacquer.
Finding a non spider one is quite challenging. I didn't see one for years!
One of these very appealing neo vintage Rolex, in my book.

Well, I have the early 1655 straight hand. And I am in principle not "a Rolex guy" ....

It is very hard to find tritium white surrounds dial without cracks.
But some are ok to live as they are only visible when you really search. I love the contrast of tritium white gold surrounds and black glosss. In the GMT range this would be the equivalent. Rich patina under plexi. Bill Below included the radial gmt. ...
