For whatever it's worth...
At first I thought the watch was going to be too big for me to comfortably wear on a daily basis. I had originally thought it would be a weekend piece, but I wear it all the time, once I put it on, I loved it, It get's the most wrist time of all my Rolex's... it's my favorite Rolex! I love the matte dial, the shape of the crystal It just has a little bit of magic to it... and the bracelet / clasp is just outstanding. For me the depth rating is irrelevant , but I think the technology in the piece is very cool. My advise is to try one on if you can and check it out on your wrist, my wrist is 7 inch wrist.

I do not find the DSSD too thick, I actually find myself forgetting that I am wearing it and I had to get used to its small 43 mm diameter. The only exceptions is when I have to work on one of my cars but in those cases it is not allowed to wear any watch...
