Hi - So, I'm thinking of adding one of these but I'm not so sure about the watches thickness. The case diameter doesnt bother me at all - what i'm concerned about is the thickness - is it truly a weekend warrior? How you those that own them enjoy them? Do... 

I own the watch and I wear it a lot when I am diving. The only reason why I wear the watch on my dives is that it is too thich and too heavy to wear in everyday life. However, I am also every now and then wearing on my dives Rolex Submariner, Blancpain FF... 

Long time no talk, my friend. Hope all is well! From what you said, I guess that this Deep Sea is a perfect tool watch for what it is made. As to wear it on an everyday basis, I agree with you, it is not that easy. But it has a lot of character, on aother... 

I'm not so sure, Nico. From what Karl wrote, and I don't want to put words in his mouth, it's bulky, even underwater. So not a great tool. In any case, apart from a (frankly, ridiculous) increased depth rating what does this watch offer over the Sea Dwell... 

Historically speaking, you had several bulky watches which were real tool watches. Just one brand: Panerai, with its 47 mm to 60 mm watches, while this Rolex has a small 43 mm... Weren't they tool watches? Weren't they bulky? Best, my friend. Nicolas

Nicolas, The problem with SDDS in my opinion is that it is too THICK; not the diameter. Due to the thickness I have scratched the watch big time to the corals, wrecks, etc. And my SDDS has only some 100 dives behind. At the same time I find my Submariner,...

At first I thought the watch was going to be too big for me to comfortably wear on a daily basis. I had originally thought it would be a weekend piece, but I wear it all the time, once I put it on, I loved it, It get's the most wrist time of all my Rolex'... 

I do not find the DSSD too thick, I actually find myself forgetting that I am wearing it and I had to get used to its small 43 mm diameter. The only exceptions is when I have to work on one of my cars but in those cases it is not allowed to wear any watch...
