On my wrist today Tuesday…
Rolex Zephyr ref 1038 c. 1969.
Described in Rolex ads of the epoch as: “Possibly the handsomest watch in the World”
Actually an elegant and classy variant of the Oyster Perpetual from a long gone era of Horology. Note the uncommon original handset.
This model was offered in at least four references and sporting different hand sets and two different bezels. Also its distinctive sector dial was offered with a rare Arabic numbers variant.
Interesting to note that its bi toned riveted Oyster bracelet has the front and back of each lateral link made in gold.
Though it’s case is 34 mm it wears larger on the wrist..
Have a nice Tuesday dear friends!
