Milgauss vs Daytona

It's funny you should speak of these two watches..  I bought one of each today.. The Milgauss and the Daytona Stainless..

I knew nothing about the Milgauss before walking into the store.  I've recently bought some Patek's and my AD suggested I take a Daytona stainless for its rarity (i was thinking about a triple-gold Daytona but he said the stainless model was the hardest to get (rarest) ..  so at his urging I took that  --  Then he mentioned this newly arrived "Milgauss"model as an even rarer instant-collectible.

Stainless Rolex was $7,900.00 (no discount)

Milgauss was $5,940.00 (no discount)

So apparently the Milgauss is the cheaper watch..  It has less technical accoutriments..  less push-buttons and a less robust housing,  so that doesn't surprise me.  Don't get me wrong, the Milgauss is still a serious watch,  but the collectibility lies in its green sapphire crystal/antimagnetic case, which is very impressive as you rotate your wrist. I'm sure it will get attention under the right shades of light.

Both are beautiful watches and I'm proud to own them.  That said,  if you want to turn heads with Rolex afficianados I'd go for the Milgauss for its rarity..  But I'm a Patek guy at heart and the only watch I ever wanted that was not a Patek is the Daytona..  with that black dial stainless model in my garage I can get ready for new PP releases at Basel.

Congrats to all Daytona owners here..  it is truly a beautiful watch. Sorry I waited this long to acquire one..  (Please excuse smudges on watches..  just opened, not cleaned)
