Meaningful lineage from my late mother’s oyster perpetual to my op land-dweller !
When land-dweller came out I had a feeling it seemed like my late mother’s one and only Rolex because of the fluted bezel. Only now I realized both were from the op line !
With humble beginnings, my father in his 70s finally bought my mom a Rolex with his retirement savings, even though she did not ask for it. He appreciated that she married him although he was poor. It was a BIG deal for them because it was a lot of money for a watch from their perspectives. Prior to this watch, my mom wore inexpensive quartz watches. When she received her Rolex, she hardly wore it because it was simply too precious for her. Naturally at my wedding she had the courage to don it.
After my mom’s passing my father gave it to me because I am his only one out of three children with daughters.
Issue now is which daughter to pass it on to ? A most difficult decision for me! Suggestions ?
Do you have such lineage watch stories ? If so, please share !
