It's to secure
so the axle for the hands are fixed when I put back the hands and not push out a gear. There is a adjustable
screw in the middle of the movementholder that do the work. If the gear is pressed out I have to pull apart a
lot of parts to get it back in place again.

I seen most watch makers just press the hands in place without removing the rotor. But i see the point you mentioned for security. Thx
