Seems like it was just given as a gift and not fitted
I feel like it is seen as a type of bracelet and worn accordingly

I try never to underestimate a woman,
But that picture of Michael Jordan wearing a Rolex or Patek or something with the bracelet unsized and dangling on his wrist is what comes to mind for me. Of course, he's since become quite the collector.
