I have been owning this watch for almost three years now.

It is fantastic to wear (44mm are like a „small“ Panerai) and really reliable in all situations.

I use it a lot in my free time and also on the water.

Extremely important: if you are interested in this watch, then take the successor model 126660, which has brought many improvements (movement, bracelet and wearing comfort, dial).

Some pics of this really versatile gem:

All the best

Thoughts on the DeepSea Sea-Dweller?

 By: Cozmopak : March 20th, 2022-22:57
This is another modern Rolex that has piqued my interest, particularly the one with the D-blue dial. I like the technical specifications and the look, as well as the collectibility potential. Any thoughts? ...

It's nice ...

a bit too thick for my taste, and I prefer a simple matte dial on divers. Not sure how collectable they are given that this dial variation has been in continuous production since 2014 ...

All good points

Really enjoyed it, was just time to move on to something a bit less bulky. And dial a little to busy for my changing tastes. Would not look to as a collectible, as it has been updated since initially released. Also, while and increase in value, has not fo...

I own and like this watch. It is after all a technical watch - real tool.

If you can overcome the thickness or wordiness on the dial, it’s a good watch to have in the collection - graduated blue to black dial + specifically honouring an individual’s achievement; both I believe, are first for Rolex. Version 2 - with the crown at...

Not a fan of 'Original Gas Escape Valve'

...not sure why this is included along with too much text already...

...wait.....

wait ... there might be something deeply light in a little while ...

Maybe a competitor to Ultra Deep?

Go vintage

 By: m2 : March 21st, 2022-07:57
I know you like vintage, why not go for the OG sea dweller?

Very good point. I do love vintage Rolex

But I very much want to add a modern Rolex to the lineup. I want a piece of their latest and greatest technology. If you read about their movements these days, the mechanisms are truly remarkable.

It's great!

The best thing I can say about it is that I really look forward to wearing it and it puts a smile on my face when I have it on my wrist. The D-blue dial is fantastic. I love the Kawasaki green "Deepsea". If you come from wearing a 40/41mm Submariner or Se...

Would be better if......

 By: guycord : March 21st, 2022-09:06
they removed the "original Gas Escape Valve" and "Ring Lock system" text and wrote instead........"the Big hand is for minutes......the small hand is for hours" or they could put "This way up" to save a few quid?

I’m in, and I like it quite a lot.

It’s a technical marvel as far as divers go, has a little twist with the unique dial in the world of conservative Rolex, with paying tribute to a special event/person(Rolex doesn’t do this often). I currently have the gen2, but had the first also. The fir...

Same for me.

I can't figure out why, in spite of the crazy proportions, this fellow makes me feel like Im looking at an old Submariner, while today's Submariner does not. So curious!

Great picture!

In my collection I have the old reference 116660 black dial, much rarer, and less inflated than blue d. The blue D was really liked by the resellers, who unfortunately cannot sell as they would like. If you do a search, you will see how many, too many d b...

Interesting.

I think the improvements for the 126660 are essential. So I would definitely go for this later version. By the way, I never heard about a 136660, either.

Exactly my thoughts.

 By: amanico : August 4th, 2022-17:44

Hi Nicolas! Ref 136660 was launched last March 2022. Slight "improvements" announced in it:

 By: Subexplorer : August 10th, 2022-20:53
Rolex slimmed down the bezel ever so slightly to feature the chamfered sapphire crystal. The date window has been upsized by eight percent, resulting in the date itself also being larger. Identical titanium caseback renamed "RLX titanium". Chroma light di...

I will wait a bit, then.
